Powered by History
The ST1901 movement was originally made by Swiss watch company Venus in the 1930s- and 40s and was then called Venus Calibre 175. In the early 1960s, Seagull was commissioned to start producing chronographs for the Chinese airforce. As Seagull did not have any chronograph calibre of their own at the time, they bought the blueprints, machinery, and tooling from Venus.
Later they refined the original design and released it commercially as the ST1901.
Case and Crystal
The case has a 40mm width which fits most wrists seamlessly. Just as the Hemingway and Earhart, the Verne Bi-Compax is using with the Raconteur signature wire-lugs. The polished finish gives it a fine and elegant appearance. The top is embellished with a double domed sapphire crystal for excellent scratch resistance and durability. The inside of the crystal is also treated with anti-reflective coating.

Handmade straps from Italy
Raconteur watches now boasts vegetable-tanned leather straps hand-made in a small coastal town in Italy. In this world-famous area, skilled artisans have been producing high-quality leather goods for ages.
By using traditional tanning methods, with tannins derived from organic materials such as barks, leaves, and branches, the result is a rich coloured leather strap with deep natural tones.
All leather straps are fitted with quick release springbars.
